Second Generation Cheesemaker John Clothier to retire as Chairman after 70 years duty to the family business
Bruton, 2nd June Somerset, 2020 – Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producers and producers of renewable energy today announce that Paul Hardwick will be taking on the official role and title of Chairman, Wyke Farms.
Paul has been with Wyke Farms for 30 years, previously working at Accountancy firm, Grant Thornton. Paul is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has successfully worked with Wyke Farms as Finance Director, helping to guide the business and the Clothier family over the years.
Rich Clothier, 3rd generation cheesemaker and Managing Director at Wyke Farms, says: “Paul has a detailed understanding of the needs of the business, our people and our customers, he will help to provide the stability that we need in these challenging times”.
John Clothier, 2nd generation cheesemaker has officially retired from his role as Chairman with immediate effect. He has worked in the family business since childhood and has over 70 years’ experience of cheese making and the dairy industry. John will remain close to the company and step into an advisory role to help steer the family business.
Wyke Farms’ cheese and butter is made with the milk from their cows grazing the lush pastures of the Mendip Hills in the centre of the Cheddar making region in Somerset.
