Young Talent from Wyke Farms Announced as ‘Eden Cultural Ambassador’

Bruton, Somerset, Friday 22nd November 2019: Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producers and producers of renewable energy, celebrate with team member Daniel Botezatu, as he is named as the ‘Eden Cultural Ambassador’ for 2019.

‘Eden’ is a dairy education initiative driven by the UK dairy industry. The programme allows students to split their time between working in industry (in this case at Wyke Farms, Bruton) and Reaseheath College. Successful students will start their dairy industry careers with either a Foundation Degree Qualification for Dairy Technologists or an Advanced Apprenticeship for Engineers. The aim is to produce world class talent for the industry.

Daniel has been named as the ‘Eden Cultural Ambassador’ for his work over the past year. It is awarded to the person that best represents the Eden values of: Passion and Pride, Pioneering Attitude, Integrity & Respect, Shared Learning and Community Spirit.

Daniel said: “Eden is a great opportunity for people within the Dairy Industry to grow and further develop. It’s currently an apprenticeship and combines an efficient way of learning through study and practice. Wyke Farms have given me the opportunity and resources to grow as an individual, prove myself professionally and progress academically.

Rich Clothier, 3rd generation family member and Managing Director, says: “Wyke Farms has always been a place where learning is encouraged, we have and always will place great emphasis on fostering and nurturing young talent.”

Wyke Farms have over 150 years of family farming experience. Wyke Farms’ cheese and butter is made with the milk from their cows grazing the lush pastures of the Mendip Hills in the centre of the Cheddar making region in Somerset.
