Rebranded Wyke Farms Report Lift in Sales and Reveal Autumn Advertising

Somerset: 12th November 2012Wyke Farms, the UK’s largest independent cheese producer and milk processor, today revealed the latest brand performance figures from Kantar World Panel (52 weeks to 30th September 2012). The data confirms a sustained 26% yoy growth, further cementing Wyke Farms as the leading Farmhouse cheddar brand in the UK, and the only independent company within the top 5 cheddar brands.


Wyke Farms undertook a complete re-brand this summer; the new packaging and brand identity was revealed in September and has so far resulted in a further 10% uplift in sales in most retailers.
The company are investing in promotional activity over the coming months to further increase brand awareness and promote the new look. This autumn, the advertising activities amounts to the largest print campaign yet for Somerset based Wyke Farms who plan to reach over 7 million ABC1 housewives with both magazine and bill board advertising.


The exciting new look pack design and print adverts communicate Wyke Farms unique provenance and tradition, “Our new brand identity clearly demonstrates our unique position in the category “ says Ashley Wilson, Sales Director at Wyke Farms, he continues “we have a special story to tell and both the retailer and the consumer are enjoying seeing it come to life on our new packs”
Wyke Farms has been producing its award-winning cheddar for over a century and has grown to become the largest family-owned cheese maker in Britain selling over 14,000 tonnes annually. The company have achieved substantial growth year on year by staying true to the traditional values behind the brand.


Wyke Farms have 150 years of family farming experience, their cheese and butter is made with the milk from their cows grazing the lush pastures of the Mendip Hills in the centre of the Cheddar making region in Somerset.


The Wyke Farms products are available nationwide and can be found in Asda, Co-op, Makro, Sainsbury’s Tesco and Waitrose.
