Orckit-Corrigent Successfully Demonstrates Multi-Vendor Interoperability at MPLS & Ethernet World Congress

CE+T networking provider participates in multi-vendor Carrier Ethernet interoperability event organized by EANTC

Tel Aviv, Israel – February 09, 2010 – Orckit Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ: ORCT), the leading Carrier Ethernet + Transport (CE+T) networking vendor, today announced its participation in the MPLS and Ethernet World Congress multi-vendor interoperability testing event, organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC). For the testing, Orckit-Corrigent submitted members of its CM-4000 CE+T products as well as its CM-11 multi-service access switches. The products demonstrate MPLS and MPLS-TP interoperability for advanced services and applications such as VPLS and video broadcasting, as well as advanced technologies such as synchronization, OAM, SAToP and IGMP snooping in order to deliver enterprise VPN, residential triple play and mobile backhauling in metro area networks.

“I am very pleased that Orckit-Corrigent continues to participate in our tests,” said Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director at EANTC. “In a competitive networking environment, interoperability is a valuable asset, and Orckit-Corrigent is realizing that by expanding its participation this year and demonstrating more interoperable technologies and services.”

Orckit-Corrigent’s interoperable products are based on Layer 2 standards and are able to deliver all types of Ethernet services as well as low and high rates of TDM traffic. The products are exclusive in their low power consumption and high capacity on a small form factor. Combined with a transport-class management system, the end-to-end solution is both scalable and affordable.

“Orckit-Corrigent’s continued investment in interoperability is catering to a real market demand for best-of-breed,” said Sharon Mantin, VP marketing at Orckit-Corrigent. “Telecommunication service providers are characterizing the most appropriate products for each network domain. Therefore, today’s networking infrastructure requires multi-vendor and interoperable capabilities for advanced, QoS based, services with comprehensive OAM and protection schemes. In the event we clearly see the dominancy of MPLS technology as transport and services enabler. This is in line with our customers’ requirements and growth plans.”

Orckit-Corrigent successfully demonstrated interoperability alongside leading vendors in the Carrier Ethernet market as described in details in the EANTC report.
