Everyday hydration drink to reach over 40,000 consumers in one month of sampling

London – October 12th, 2010 – Juice Doctor, the naturally isotonic juicy water brand co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, is carrying out the biggest consumer sampling campaign in the company’s history this month. Re-launched earlier this year with a new flavour and updated branding, the company are supporting the new look and flavour with an extensive sampling programme.

Juice Doctor will be sampling at this years Metro Snow (The Ski and Snowboard Show) from the 20th – 24th October where over 35,000 visitors are expected to attend. The company is also embracing social media to support the sampling with both Twitter and Facebook giveaways.

In addition, Juice Doctor will be at the following shopping centres throughout the month of October to giveaway free samples of the drinks:

Lakeside, Thurrock

Bullring, Birmingham

Meadowhall, Sheffield

Princes Quay, Hull

Cabots Circus, Bristol,

Arndale Centre, Manchester

Designed to help balance the body by restoring and maintaining healthy levels of hydration, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic drinks are made from spring water and natural fruit juice. Instead of salt, used in most sports drinks, Juice Doctor uses a potassium hydration booster (salt substitute), which has been shown to have a similar effect by regulating the body’s ability to retain essential fluids once absorbed. Each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml (the range has up to 50% fewer calories than many other juicy waters) and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners.

Juice Doctor is the first soft drinks company to combine the isotonic functionality commonly found in sports drinks with the natural taste profile of a ‘juicy water’ to create the new category of ‘everyday hydration’, designed to appeal equally to men and women.

The Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday drinks, are available for £1.15 nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and various independent stores.

Juice Doctor named as events official sponsor

London, 20th July 2010: Juice Doctor, the naturally isotonic every day hydration drink, has been named as the official sponsor of an ambitious charity bike ride challenge from John O’Groats to Land’s End this August. But it’s not just any bike ride. Those taking part will be riding a seven-seater circular bike, all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The core team of four is lead by Ed Greig, 25, has chosen Cancer Research UK to be one of its charity partners. He is calling for members of the public to join the team en route to make up the seven needed to pedal the bike. Whether you can stretch to one mile or twenty, or would prefer to help out with accommodation or meal stops along the way, it’s your chance to do something out of the ordinary to help beat cancer. Anyone interested in taking part can book their place on the bike by emailing pedalpower@cobiuk.com.

Juice Doctor, has been chosen as the official drinks sponsor of the challenge to keep the team hydrated throughout the event with their range of naturally isotonic juicy waters. Co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, the drinks help restore and maintain healthy levels of hydration and with four flavour choices Juice Doctor is the perfect drinks partner for the challenge. Sir Steve has recently completed RAAM (Race across America); Steve and his team cycled from the West to the East coast of the USA in 7 days and 3 hours. National consumer campaign ‘Keep It Light!’, launched earlier this year to raise hydration health awareness, are also supporting the bike ride.

Sir Steve Redgrave, OBE, Five-Time Olympic Gold Medallist and Co-Founder of Juice Doctor, said: “I’m delighted to lend my support to this great fund-raising event. Only we Brits would be mad enough to take a Seven Seater bike from one end of the country to another to raise important funds for Cancer Research UK, and I have no doubt that the team will be given the public’s support for each and every mile of the trip. Having just cycled across the USA with Race Across America (RAAM) I know just what preparation and determination goes into such a ride, so I extend my best wishes to each and every person who gets in the saddle to support Ed and his crew.”

The ride starts at John O’ Groats on 1 August, and the team aims to reach Land’s End on 28 August. The 1,136 mile route will take them from the UK’s tip to toe via Dundee, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge, London and Southampton, including some of Cancer Research UK’s key sites along the way.[1]

The team will be raising money via Cancer Research UK’s online giving site, MyProjects. The site allows people to donate to a specific project in which they may have a particular interest, especially at a regional level across the UK. It is of particular interest to the CoBi UK project as the team is looking to increase regional engagement and support for the charity’s research centres. If you would like to support the team, visit: http://www.cobiuk.com/donate.html

Bethan Wood, from Cancer Research UK said: “We’re delighted that Ed and the team have chosen to fundraise for Cancer Research UK with this unique challenge. We really do rely on donations from supporters to fund our work, and this is a shining example. I can’t wait to see how they get on!”

Email pedalpower@cobiuk.com if you would like to help out en route.

The ride is organised through www.cobiuk.com.

ENDS

For further information, contact the challenge organiser Ed Greig, on +44 (0)7825 263 408 or email egreig@deloitte.co.uk

Notes to editors

The Conference Bike, or CoBi, as it is abbreviated, was conceived as a work of art by American inventor, Eric Staller. The bike is built in Germany and is an engineering marvel with seven riders sitting in a circle and all able to pedal at their own speed. One person steers while 6 pedal.

About Juice Doctor

Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medalist Sir Steve Redgrave, was launched in 2006. The company was set up with the clear aim of helping to educate adults and children alike about the benefits of good hydration, and so help tackle the UK’s escalating occurrence of health issues arising from poor hydration.

Juice Doctor drinks have taken the science commonly associated with sports drinks and created a range of everyday hydration drinks that target busy people on the go. The drinks, which are naturally isotonic, have been formulated to help restore and maintain the body’s natural fluid balance. Instead of using sodium, found in most sports drinks, Juice Doctor uses a potassium hydration booster that has been shown to have a similar effect by regulating the body’s ability to retain essential fluid once absorbed.

Each Juice Doctor drink is a carefully measured blend of spring water, fruit juice, beet sugar, natural flavourings and minerals. There are no artificial colourings, no artificial flavourings, no preservatives, no sodium and no sweeteners.

London – May 18, 2010 – Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, is launching their range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks, with a new look and improved recipes. In addition, Juice Doctor is introducing a new flavour choice to compliment the range. As well as Apple, Lemon and Tropical, the naturally isotonic juicy water is now also available in Berry flavour. The complete range has all been carefully blended to tempt the taste buds and more importantly, hydrate the nation.

Steve Redgrave, co-founder of Juice Doctor, explains: “In my time as an Olympic athlete I recognised the importance of maintaining good hydration levels in order to optimise my performance. However, what isn’t so commonly known is that hydration is vital for performance in our everyday lives, no matter what we are doing. We lose on average 2 litres of water everyday, and just a 2 percent loss in hydration can result in a 20 percent loss in concentration.”

Juice Doctor is the first soft drinks company to combine the isotonic functionality commonly found in sports drinks with the natural taste profile of a ‘juicy water’ to create the new category of ‘everyday hydration’, designed to appeal equally to men and women.

To communicate the brand’s core message of ‘good hydration’, the Juice Doctor brand has a number of supporting activities planned for the summer months. The company is supporting ‘Keep It Light!, a new consumer campaign set up to educate the nation and encourage healthy hydration habits. Launched earlier this month, the campaign urges people to check the colour of their urine – the body’s natural visual detector for hydration levels – and has set a national goal to ‘keep it light.’ In support, Juice Doctor has included a pee-tone chart on their product labels to encourage consumers to think about good hydration. The campaign is being supported by some of the UK’s leading brands, including Birds Eye, Carphone Warehouse, Plantronics, the RNLI and TalkTalk

Juice Doctor will also be engaging in a national sampling programme throughout the UK, including such events as The Big Fun Runs and the Corporate Games. The company is also embracing social media, allowing two-way consumer interaction through campaigns on Twitter and regular Facebook giveaways.

TJ Herbert, co-founder of Juice Doctor adds, “As many as two in every three people in the UK unknowingly spend every day dehydrated. As a brand, we want to educate adults and children alike on the benefits of a good hydration regime so they can make informed choices, which is why we’ve backed the “Keep it Light!” message.”

Free information and downloadable materials – including a personal ‘Y’urindicator’® a urine colour chart to help identify the stages of hydration – are available on the Juice doctor website.

The Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday drinks, are available for £1.15 nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and various independent retailers.

London – May 18, 2010 – Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, is launching their range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks today, with a new look and improved recipe.

If you’re not familiar with the term ‘naturally isotonic’, you’re not alone. According to a recent survey[1] commissioned by Juice Doctor, 69 percent of Brits are unaware of what ‘isotonic’ means. The same survey also found that 93 percent of the UK’s office workers are NOT drinking enough water and listed their top three reasons for not getting enough as: 1) they simply forget, 2) they find water lacking in flavour and boring and 3) the frequent toilet trips that typically come with drinking water.

Designed to help balance the body by restoring and maintaining healthy levels of hydration, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic drinks are made from spring water and natural fruit juice. Each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners.

By combining the isotonic functionality found in sports drinks with the taste profile associated with juicy water, Juice Doctor has created a range of everyday hydration drinks that not only taste good, but also provide the body with effective hydration. TJ Herbert, Co-founder of Juice Doctor explains, “There was a big gap in the market for a drink that could offer excellent hydration credentials with a great taste profile that appeals to both men and women alike.”

One Simple Change To Drinking Habits Could Help The Nation Stay Slim

London – May 13, 2010 – The results of research into the nation’s hydration habits have today been released and suggest that 96 percent of the UK’s office workers are habitually dehydrated. The workplace hydration survey[1], commissioned by Juice Doctor, the naturally isotonic every day hydration drink, has also found that slimmer people drink significantly more water than those categorized as ‘of normal weight’ or ‘obese’. The research was carried out on behalf of a national hydration campaign called ‘Keep It Light!”, being launched today.

The survey polled more than 1,000 office workers throughout the UK and found that slimmer people are not only more aware of the recommended daily intake of water, but also drink significantly more amounts of water than their larger counterparts. Juice Doctor discovered that twice as many people in the low BMI category drink five or more glasses of water per day than those in the higher BMI groupings. By comparison, one-third of those surveyed in the ‘obese’ category admitted to not drinking ANY water at all, where as the same was true for only one-fifth of the “normal weight” group.

“Our survey has revealed a shocking prevalence of dehydration in the UK with a big gap between knowledge and habit. For example, 94 percent of office workers agreed that good hydration is important to a good complexion and a healthy lifestyle, but only 4 percent actually drink enough water during the day.” Comments TJ Herbert, co-founder of Juice Doctor.

The survey also unearthed the top three reasons for people NOT drinking enough water as: 1) they simply forget, 2) they find water lacking in flavour and boring and 3) the frequent toilet trips that typically come with drinking water.

Designed to help balance the body by restoring and maintaining healthy levels of hydration, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic drinks are made from spring water and natural fruit juice. If you’re not familiar with the term ‘naturally isotonic’, you’re not alone. The same survey found that 69 percent of Brits are unaware of what ‘isotonic’ means. ‘Isotonic’ drinks have a similar concentration of sugar and salts as your body and therefore can replace and retain fluids more efficiently than water. Instead of salt, used in most sports drinks, Juice Doctor uses a potassium hydration booster (salt substitute), which has been shown to have a similar effect by regulating the body’s ability to retain essential fluids once absorbed. Each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners.

Free information and downloadable materials including a Y’urindicator”® pee-tone colour chart to help identify the stages of hydration, are available on the Juice doctor website.

Re-launched in May 2010 with an improved great-tasting recipe and four new exciting flavours, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks are available nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and various independent retailers for RRP £1.15.
