Everyday hydration drink to reach over 40,000 consumers in one month of sampling

London – October 12th, 2010 – Juice Doctor, the naturally isotonic juicy water brand co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, is carrying out the biggest consumer sampling campaign in the company’s history this month. Re-launched earlier this year with a new flavour and updated branding, the company are supporting the new look and flavour with an extensive sampling programme.

Juice Doctor will be sampling at this years Metro Snow (The Ski and Snowboard Show) from the 20th – 24th October where over 35,000 visitors are expected to attend. The company is also embracing social media to support the sampling with both Twitter and Facebook giveaways.

In addition, Juice Doctor will be at the following shopping centres throughout the month of October to giveaway free samples of the drinks:

Lakeside, Thurrock

Bullring, Birmingham

Meadowhall, Sheffield

Princes Quay, Hull

Cabots Circus, Bristol,

Arndale Centre, Manchester

Designed to help balance the body by restoring and maintaining healthy levels of hydration, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic drinks are made from spring water and natural fruit juice. Instead of salt, used in most sports drinks, Juice Doctor uses a potassium hydration booster (salt substitute), which has been shown to have a similar effect by regulating the body’s ability to retain essential fluids once absorbed. Each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml (the range has up to 50% fewer calories than many other juicy waters) and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners.

Juice Doctor is the first soft drinks company to combine the isotonic functionality commonly found in sports drinks with the natural taste profile of a ‘juicy water’ to create the new category of ‘everyday hydration’, designed to appeal equally to men and women.

The Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday drinks, are available for £1.15 nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and various independent stores.

Juice Doctor named as events official sponsor

London, 20th July 2010: Juice Doctor, the naturally isotonic every day hydration drink, has been named as the official sponsor of an ambitious charity bike ride challenge from John O’Groats to Land’s End this August. But it’s not just any bike ride. Those taking part will be riding a seven-seater circular bike, all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The core team of four is lead by Ed Greig, 25, has chosen Cancer Research UK to be one of its charity partners. He is calling for members of the public to join the team en route to make up the seven needed to pedal the bike. Whether you can stretch to one mile or twenty, or would prefer to help out with accommodation or meal stops along the way, it’s your chance to do something out of the ordinary to help beat cancer. Anyone interested in taking part can book their place on the bike by emailing pedalpower@cobiuk.com.

Juice Doctor, has been chosen as the official drinks sponsor of the challenge to keep the team hydrated throughout the event with their range of naturally isotonic juicy waters. Co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, the drinks help restore and maintain healthy levels of hydration and with four flavour choices Juice Doctor is the perfect drinks partner for the challenge. Sir Steve has recently completed RAAM (Race across America); Steve and his team cycled from the West to the East coast of the USA in 7 days and 3 hours. National consumer campaign ‘Keep It Light!’, launched earlier this year to raise hydration health awareness, are also supporting the bike ride.

Sir Steve Redgrave, OBE, Five-Time Olympic Gold Medallist and Co-Founder of Juice Doctor, said: “I’m delighted to lend my support to this great fund-raising event. Only we Brits would be mad enough to take a Seven Seater bike from one end of the country to another to raise important funds for Cancer Research UK, and I have no doubt that the team will be given the public’s support for each and every mile of the trip. Having just cycled across the USA with Race Across America (RAAM) I know just what preparation and determination goes into such a ride, so I extend my best wishes to each and every person who gets in the saddle to support Ed and his crew.”

The ride starts at John O’ Groats on 1 August, and the team aims to reach Land’s End on 28 August. The 1,136 mile route will take them from the UK’s tip to toe via Dundee, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Cambridge, London and Southampton, including some of Cancer Research UK’s key sites along the way.[1]

The team will be raising money via Cancer Research UK’s online giving site, MyProjects. The site allows people to donate to a specific project in which they may have a particular interest, especially at a regional level across the UK. It is of particular interest to the CoBi UK project as the team is looking to increase regional engagement and support for the charity’s research centres. If you would like to support the team, visit: http://www.cobiuk.com/donate.html

Bethan Wood, from Cancer Research UK said: “We’re delighted that Ed and the team have chosen to fundraise for Cancer Research UK with this unique challenge. We really do rely on donations from supporters to fund our work, and this is a shining example. I can’t wait to see how they get on!”

Email pedalpower@cobiuk.com if you would like to help out en route.

The ride is organised through www.cobiuk.com.

ENDS

For further information, contact the challenge organiser Ed Greig, on +44 (0)7825 263 408 or email egreig@deloitte.co.uk

Notes to editors

The Conference Bike, or CoBi, as it is abbreviated, was conceived as a work of art by American inventor, Eric Staller. The bike is built in Germany and is an engineering marvel with seven riders sitting in a circle and all able to pedal at their own speed. One person steers while 6 pedal.

About Juice Doctor

Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medalist Sir Steve Redgrave, was launched in 2006. The company was set up with the clear aim of helping to educate adults and children alike about the benefits of good hydration, and so help tackle the UK’s escalating occurrence of health issues arising from poor hydration.

Juice Doctor drinks have taken the science commonly associated with sports drinks and created a range of everyday hydration drinks that target busy people on the go. The drinks, which are naturally isotonic, have been formulated to help restore and maintain the body’s natural fluid balance. Instead of using sodium, found in most sports drinks, Juice Doctor uses a potassium hydration booster that has been shown to have a similar effect by regulating the body’s ability to retain essential fluid once absorbed.

Each Juice Doctor drink is a carefully measured blend of spring water, fruit juice, beet sugar, natural flavourings and minerals. There are no artificial colourings, no artificial flavourings, no preservatives, no sodium and no sweeteners.

Available for download from today, Juice Doctor’s World Cup Song in aid of Sparks Children’s Charity

London – June 14, 2010 – The official, unofficial England World Cup Song, “I Gotta Feelin’ (In Me Waters),” is now available for download from iTunes. The song was produced by Juice Doctor, with money from download sales being raised for Sparks, the children’s medical research charity dedicated to helping all babies be born healthy and stay healthy.

Not an average anthem, “I Gotta Feelin’ (In Me Waters)” is a catchy song that has been released by Juice Doctor, the naturally isotonic everyday hydration drink Co-founded by Sir Steve Redgrave. Performed by one talented piece of celebrity fruit named ‘John Lemon’, the song is accompanied by a quirky animation video, which can be viewed at http://www.juicedoctordrinks.com/ItsShowtime.

The music video has already begun circulating online and building a positive buzz. Juice Doctor has set a goal to achieve 500,000 views online through social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to help raise awareness of Sparks and raise money by encouraging viewers to download the track. Juice Doctor and John Lemon are aiming for glory by topping the World Cup Song chart and believe with 500,000 views this is achievable.

“It’s at times like these when we pull together as a nation that we’re blessed with the opportunity to help support a fantastic cause such as Sparks and their fight against childhood disease,” said Sir Steve Redgrave, a former president and current vice-president of Sparks. “We’ve set a challenging goal for ourselves with this song, but I’m confident that this inspiring tune will capture the imagination of the public this World Cup season and with sufficient on-line views help us make a real difference.”

Sir Steve is just one of the iconic sporting figures among Sparks’s team of celebrity Ambassadors. Among them are his great Olympic gold medal- winning teammates, Sir Matt Pinsent and James Cracknell, while from the world of football, Sir Geoff Hurst, MBE, the only man in history to score a World Cup final hat trick, is Sparks president 2010.

Other great football names from the charity include vice-president Sir Trevor Brooking, Ray Clemence, Matt Le Tissier, Glenn Hoddle, Pat Jennings, Peter Shilton, Ray Wilkins, Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa.

Founded by leading sportsmen and women in 1991, Sparks has raised almost £19m to fund pioneering research across the whole spectrum of paediatric illness, with the goal of helping more children to be born healthy and grow up healthy. Childhood cancers, juvenile arthritis, cerebral palsy, meningitis and the many risks associated with premature birth are just a few areas where doctors and scientists funded by Sparks are making a difference every day.

As president Sir Geoff Hurst put it in a major media interview recently: “To me, Sparks goal of helping more children to be born healthy and grow up healthy is even more important than scoring the winner in a World Cup final.”

In addition, football fans and Sparks supporters nationwide can show their support by entering the World Cup Competition online at http://www.juicedoctordrinks.com/worldcupcompetition with the chance to win a month’s supply of Juice Doctor’s naturally isotonic juicy water as well as an Altec Lansing InMotion Max speaker for the iPod and iPhone.

Naturally Isotonic Hydration Drink and Altec Lansing team up for big giveaway; Winner to receive a Month’s Supply of Juice Doctor soft drinks and an InMotion Max speaker

London – June 1, 2010 – Juice Doctor, Co-founded by five-time Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, has enlisted the help of one seriously talented citrus fruit by the name of John Lemon to create a new anthem to cheer on The Three Lions with a hilarious new song titled, ‘I Gotta Feelin (In Me Waters)’; Officially the ‘Unofficial England World Cup Song’ of 2010. To celebrate the viral release of the song and it’s ‘juicy’ video, Juice Doctor has also teamed up with Altec Lansing, the sound specialist, to host a nationwide giveaway contest that will reward one lucky fan with a full month’s supply of Juice Doctor’s naturally isotonic juicy water to keep the winner hydrated throughout the tournament, as well as an InMotion Max speaker to entertain friends when hosting the victory celebration. For a chance to win, entrants must simply log on to http://www.juicedoctordrinks.com/worldcupcompetition and answer Juice Doctor’s three questions about the music video.

Singing, sporting fruit is nothing new for Juice Doctor. In 2006, the start-up soft drinks brand put its own unique stamp on the World Cup with a series of animated videos re-enacting the highlights of England’s games using fruit as actors, starring John Lemon. Popular amongst football fans nationwide (naturally!), these clips went live within 24 hours of each game’s outcome and grew into a viral hit…until England was knocked out of the actual tournament. Signing off, Juice Doctor responded to the nation’s heartache with a fruit-filled performance entitled ‘Football’s Not Coming Home’, healing some, but not all of the country’s pain. This time, the song is much more upbeat and will certainly help in keeping the country’s spirits up while cheering our boys home with the gold and the glory.

Having sustained a serious Achilles peel injury, John Lemon’s football career was sliced short. But instead of becoming bitter, Lemon and Juice Doctor are back, stronger than ever with ‘I Gotta Feelin’ (In Me Waters). The giveaway contest is now open, entrants must 16 years old and over and can only enter once; the winner will be announced on the 12th July 2010.

Designed to help balance the body by restoring and maintaining healthy levels of hydration, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic hydration drinks http://www.juicedoctordrinks.com are made from spring water and natural fruit juice. Available in Berry, Tropical, Lemon and Apple flavour, each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners. Juice Doctor is available nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and various independent retailers for RRP £1.15.

Everyday hydration drink re-launches with fresh new look, new recipe and new flavour choice

London – May 18, 2010 – Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, is launching their range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks, with a new look and improved recipes. In addition, Juice Doctor is introducing a new flavour choice to compliment the range. As well as Apple, Lemon and Tropical, the naturally isotonic juicy water is now also available in Berry flavour. The complete range has all been carefully blended to tempt the taste buds and more importantly, hydrate the nation.

Steve Redgrave, co-founder of Juice Doctor, explains: “In my time as an Olympic athlete I recognised the importance of maintaining good hydration levels in order to optimise my performance. However, what isn’t so commonly known is that hydration is vital for performance in our everyday lives, no matter what we are doing. We lose on average 2 litres of water everyday, and just a 2 percent loss in hydration can result in a 20 percent loss in concentration.”

Juice Doctor is the first soft drinks company to combine the isotonic functionality commonly found in sports drinks with the natural taste profile of a ‘juicy water’ to create the new category of ‘everyday hydration’, designed to appeal equally to men and women.

To communicate the brand’s core message of ‘good hydration’, the Juice Doctor brand has a number of supporting activities planned for the summer months. The company is supporting ‘Keep It Light!, a new consumer campaign set up to educate the nation and encourage healthy hydration habits. Launched earlier this month, the campaign urges people to check the colour of their urine – the body’s natural visual detector for hydration levels – and has set a national goal to ‘keep it light.’ In support, Juice Doctor has included a pee-tone chart on their product labels to encourage consumers to think about good hydration. The campaign is being supported by some of the UK’s leading brands, including Birds Eye, Carphone Warehouse, Plantronics, the RNLI and TalkTalk

Juice Doctor will also be engaging in a national sampling programme throughout the UK, including such events as The Big Fun Runs and the Corporate Games. The company is also embracing social media, allowing two-way consumer interaction through campaigns on Twitter and regular Facebook giveaways.

TJ Herbert, co-founder of Juice Doctor adds, “As many as two in every three people in the UK unknowingly spend every day dehydrated. As a brand, we want to educate adults and children alike on the benefits of a good hydration regime so they can make informed choices, which is why we’ve backed the “Keep it Light!” message.”

Free information and downloadable materials – including a personal ‘Y’urindicator’® a urine colour chart to help identify the stages of hydration – are available on the Juice doctor website.

The Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday drinks, are available for £1.15 nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and various independent retailers.

New recipe and new flavour choice never looked so good as naturally isotonic drink gets a make over

London – May 18, 2010 – Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, is launching their range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks today, with a new look and improved recipe.

If you’re not familiar with the term ‘naturally isotonic’, you’re not alone. According to a recent survey[1] commissioned by Juice Doctor, 69 percent of Brits are unaware of what ‘isotonic’ means. The same survey also found that 93 percent of the UK’s office workers are NOT drinking enough water and listed their top three reasons for not getting enough as: 1) they simply forget, 2) they find water lacking in flavour and boring and 3) the frequent toilet trips that typically come with drinking water.

Each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners.

By combining the isotonic functionality found in sports drinks with the taste profile associated with juicy water, Juice Doctor has created a range of everyday hydration drinks that not only taste good, but also provide the body with effective hydration. TJ Herbert, Co-founder of Juice Doctor explains, “There was a big gap in the market for a drink that could offer excellent hydration credentials with a great taste profile that appeals to both men and women alike.”

Free information and downloadable materials including a Y’urindicator”® pee-tone colour chart to help identify the stages of hydration, are available on the Juice doctor website.

Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks are available nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and various independent retailers for RRP £1.15.

National Hydration Survey Uncovers UK’s Office Workers Surprising Lack of Knowledge and Dangerous Hydration Habits

London – May 13, 2010 – ‘Keep It Light!’, a new consumer campaign is launched today in light of new research, which has uncovered habitual dehydration among 96% of the UK’s office workers. Designed to educate the nation and encourage healthy hydration habits, the campaign is urging people to frequently check the colour of their urine and setting the nation a goal to ‘keep it light’. The campaign is specifically targeting employers and inviting them to download free posters and information to help them communicate the hydration health message within the workplace. Free information is available at the ‘Keep It Light!’ website.

Sir Steve Redgrave, five times Olympic gold medallist, is supporting the campaign and comments, “Improving hydration habits is an easy way to improve performance in everyday life. It’s the same message for athletes, taxi drivers, office workers and busy mums alike.”

Currently, two in every three Brits are dehydrated and while our bodies offer an accurate visual detector to ascertain hydration levels, namely the colour of our pee, ‘Keep It Light!’ has found a widespread lack of understanding of what the campaign’s leaders claim to be ‘simple biology’. Their findings show that 93 percent of office workers either don’t check and/or don’t know what the colour indicates.

‘Keep it Light!’ has been launched in response to the shocking results from a workplace hydration survey, which uncovered an overwhelming lack of hydration knowledge in the UK. Funded by Juice Doctor on behalf of ‘Keep It Light!’, the survey polled over 1,000 UK office workers and questioned them about hydration-related issues, such as their office drinking habits and how they identify and treat dehydration. The results were astounding…

Pop A Pill and Cure All Ills?

A shocking 75 percent of UK office workers cited their first response to a headache as taking headache pills rather than drinking more water.

Feeling a bit parched?

While the majority of office workers (60 percent) believed that they drink enough water, less than 4 percent are actually getting the recommended 7+ glasses of water per day. In fact, almost three-quarters of the respondents admitted to drinking either no water at all or only one to two glasses.

Dip in productivity

The vast majority (83.5 percent) of office workers surveyed admitted that being thirsty affects their productivity at work, yet most continue with poor hydration regimes. Just a 2 percent drop in hydration can lead to a massive 20 percent drop in concentration. The ‘Keep It Light!’ campaign warns that a habitually dehydrated worker can be wasting up to one day per week in loss of concentration.

Let’s shed some light on this…

Our bodies have a natural early warning system for helping us know when we are dehydrated, namely the colour of our pee. However, the survey has shown that less than one-third of people (27.10 percent) admitted to checking the colour of their urine to see if they’re dehydrated. Even worse, only 7 percent of them, the more vigilant, said they notice when their urine is an odd colour, and when they do, they don’t know what it means.

To spread the ‘Keep it Light!’ message, Sir Steve Redgrave and Juice Doctor have enlisted the help of some of the UK’s leading companies – including Birds Eye, Plantronics, The RNLI and TalkTalk (see full list at ‘Keep It Light!’ website) to help educate the British workforce about hydration by providing their employees with posters, fact sheets and other hydration resources.

The ‘Keep It Light!’ website includes a downloadable personal “Y’urindicator” chart from Juice Doctor, which is designed as a pee-tone colour chart to help identify the stages of hydration, as well as other free materials to post up in washrooms, rest areas and offices.
