Juice Doctor Sponsors Paralympic Cyclist Simon Richardson MBE

From one Olympic gold medallist to another: Sir Steve Redgrave’s drinks brand set to give Simon a boost

London – August 31st, 2010 – Juice Doctor, co-founded by five times Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, has announced a sponsorship deal with Welsh paralympic cyclist Simon Richardson, MBE.  The naturally isotonic drinks brand will be supporting Simon’s training by supplying drinks to help him prepare for the Rudy Project Time Trials, the next major event in Simon’s race calendar. Juice Doctor’s logo will be seen on Simon’s helmet, wheels and car.

Simon Richardson, MBE and winner of two Olympic gold medals and one silver from the 2008 Beijing Paralympics Games said: “I am delighted to be sponsored by Juice Doctor. I am sure that as part of my overall training schedule, Juice Doctor drinks will help give me the edge I need to improve my cycling even more and go on to gain further recognition

Sir Steve Redgrave, five times Olympic gold medallist and co-founder of Juice Doctor, commented: “The Paralympics teams often get overlooked by the big sponsors so I am delighted to be supporting Simon in a way that I know will help benefit his training

Juice Doctor is fast becoming the favoured drinks of cyclists at all levels.  The drinks brand recently sponsored the Co-BiUK challenge – a ride from John O’Groats to Lands End on a 7-man conference bike (1 bike, 1 speed, 7 people). Taking 1 month to complete and all in aid of Cancer Research UK, the Co-BiUK team chose Juice Doctor as their drinks partner. The challenge has recently been recognised as an official Guinness World Record attempt.

Designed to help balance the body by restoring and maintaining healthy levels of hydration, Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic drinks are made from spring water and natural fruit juice. Instead of salt, used in most sports drinks, Juice Doctor uses a potassium hydration booster (salt substitute), which has been shown to have a similar effect by regulating the body’s ability to retain essential fluids once absorbed. Each drink contains around 20 calories per 100ml and has no artificial colourings, flavourings, preservatives, sodium or sweeteners.

Free information and downloadable materials including a Y’urindicator”® pee-tone colour chart to help identify the stages of hydration, are available on the Juice doctor website.

Juice Doctor’s range of naturally isotonic everyday hydration drinks are available nationwide at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, and various independent retailers for RRP £1.15.
