About Benjoy

Founded in 2008, Benjoy was developed by Michelle Daniells who discovered a gap in the market while looking for healthy snack food for her own son. Michelle built a team of credible experts in children’s nutrition and health, nutrition science and food science to help her develop a range of innovative food products. The result is the first range of healthier children’s snack food to offer parents both the convenience that comes with the Munchcup™ less-mess packaging and the peace of mind that comes with knowing all of the food is made from 100% natural ingredients with optimum, age-appropriate nutritional value.

Children’s nutrition gets even more convenient as Benjoy launches single ‘Munchcups’

Nutritious children’s food in first-of- its-kind ‘less mess’ packaging now available as single units

London, 2nd June 2011: Children’s food company Benjoy Nutrition, extend their range today with the introduction of single Munchcups. Previously only available in a multi pack of four, the healthier snacks for young children were launched in 2010.  The ‘Munchcup’, is the first anti-spill, “less mess” packaging of its kind anywhere in the world.

The success of Benjoy foods and overwhelming popularity of the Munchcup has lead to the fast development of the single units.  In just six months Benjoy have developed new shelf-ready and clipstrip formats that allow retailers and food service outlets to stock the single Munchcups and meet the needs of parents for a nutritious snack to be available while out and about or travelling with their children.  The multipacks have proved a successful offering for the home store cupboard for school lunchboxes and “handbag snacks”.

Moved to action by the lack of age appropriate, healthy snack food and convenient packaging, Benjoy’s founder Michelle Daniells used her experiences as a mother to develop the unique range of nutritious and convenient snack foods for toddlers and pre-schoolers. After combining efforts with the expertise of the current Benjoy team including a clinical dietician, Sally Child well-known nutritionist and author of several books on children’s nutrition, a food technologist and a panel of mums, Benjoy was born.

Benjoy foods are age-appropriate and nutritionally optimised by incorporating 100% natural ingredients and essential nutrients commonly lacking in young children’s diets. The ingredients, portion sizes and recipes have been developed using flavours, textures, sizes and shapes that young children enjoy, but with no added salt or sugar. The entire Benjoy range is now available in single, anti-spill, less mess Munchcups.  The range is as follows:

Freeze-dried Fruit Slices:

Crunchy Strawberry Slices – HIGH IN VITAMIN C: Fresh strawberries that are freeze dried for a crunch that children love and a vitamin content that give parents peace of mind; gram for gram 3 times more vitamin C than fresh strawberries.

Crunchy Grape SlicesThe 11g portion is made from approximately 55g of fresh grapes (the equivalent of half a bunch of grapes) and provides both manganese and vitamin C.

Wholesome Multigrain Bites:

Tomato and Carrot – A SOURCE OF FIBRE & CALCIUM: These crunchy little bites include a mix of grains including quinoa to optimise taste and nutrition and are coated with real tomato and carrot juices.

Multigrain Munchers:

Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper – A SOURCE OF OMEGA 3 FATTY ACIDS: Containing a mixture of grains (millet, rye, wheat) and seeds (golden linseed, sunflower seed, linseed) these crunchy crostini are nutritious and delicious. They are flavoured with vegetable purees, herbs and spices

Wholesome Mini Crisps:

Root Vegetables – HIGH IN VITAMIN A: A great mix of beetroot, parsnip, carrot and sweet potato. These are the first, “naked”, no added salt vegetable crisps on the market (appendix 1 for comparison to similar products).

All Benjoy foods are made using 100% natural ingredients, are low in salt and sugar and contain no refined sugar. Benjoy children’s food is available from Ocado and in store at Morrisons.  Recommended retail prices (for a multi pack of 4) range from £2.49 for the Multigrain Bites to £2.69 for the Crunchy Grape and Strawberry Slices.

  1. There are some really great recipes here. It can be hard to get kids to eat fruit and veg, and these all sound perfect. Thank you for sharing.
